Kanika Magee, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, is the Senior Minister to Youth at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, Maryland. In this capacity, she leads over 20 ministries in program, budget and strategic planning. She conducts regular Bible studies for ministries and a weekly Bible Study for children ages 4 to 11. Rev. Magee brings creativity and excellence to this ministry, as children are led in an interactive praise and worship service which engages their talents and imaginations as the Bible is brought to life through costumes, props and role playing. She conducts motivational workshops throughout the nation and has instituted innovative programs including a youth leadership development initiative, internship program, college tours, entrepreneurship program and youth-planned conferences attracting over 1,000 youth from across the nation.
Rev. Magee is the sole proprietor of an independent consulting practice, bringing needed assistance and business acumen to non-profit organizations in the areas of community and economic development throughout the country. Rev. Magee is a poet and a writer, with four published children’s books including “Today I Got Saved” and “What Color is Heaven??” Her efforts have been recognized through her acceptance into the Cambridge Professional Listing of Non-Profit Professionals and Leadership Greater Washington class of 2008. She has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the National Black MBA Association Fellowship, the Executive Leadership Council Excellence in Business Commentary Award and the Ivan Earle Taylor Scholarship.
Rev. Magee earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Howard University School of Business, a Master of Divinity degree from the Howard University School of Divinity and an MBA from Georgetown University. She has conducted doctoral studies at the George Washington University in Organizational Behavior and is currently pursuing Ph.D.’s in Religion at the Catholic University of America and Baltimore Hebrew University. Rev. Magee recently founded a non-profit organization to provide youth programs in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
